Nhadragh History

Before the Nhadragh arrived the land was ruled by the Fomor, who had thrown of the opression of the Serpent Poeple. The Nhadragh were led by five brothers, Slainge, Rudraige, Gann, Genann and Sengann. As they approach the land a great wind rose up and separated them into three parts: The Fir Bolg, The Fir Domnann, and the Fir Gaileon. The first were named for the leather sacks they carried, the second for the pits that were left when they dug out the earth, and the third for the darts that were their weapons.

They all eventually landed on Mide at the same time, and sent messengers to each other to meet up in the centre of Mide at Tara. Then they all assembled there and decided to divide out the land equally between the five brothers. The made war on the Giants and Serpent Folk. They drove the Giants to the mountains and the Serpent Folk to their hidden places.

There they lived peacefully enough for many years until the coming of the Vadhagh.

Nhadragh Culture

Nhadragh are short dark skinned and powerfully built people. Nhadrag often seem to be moody loners to those who they are not intimately familiar. They are not giving to boasting, which they see as just another form of lieing, and will insist that a boaster prove thier claims.

The Nhadragh were once the greatest sailors of the world. Whether it was exploration, fishing, war or trading the Nhadragh do it, and they do it on ships. The Nhadragh are very community and group oriented. They have no notion of personal excellence. Individual actions may or may not be notable, but the idea that someone who is a little bit stronger, smarter or faster deserves special attention seems utterly stupid to a Nhadragh. Group or team excellence is considered something different. A well functioning team is considered a thing of great beauty.
